Life of mountain villagers

Many people living in the nouthern Thailand came there from different parts of Asia. Chineese, Burmese, Laos… The Karen, Mien, Hmong, Lahu, Akha and Lisu… Every village is different and has different standard of living. Most of them might be unacceptable for Europeans, but what we can see is that those people are simply happy. There is also some modern technology implemented. I didn’t see many mobiles there, but satellite antenas and solar panels are very popular.

Advertisement is a good way to earn some money, however, from the company point of view, I don’t think this campaign may be very successful.

People seem happier. Even if they have less…

Photo taken by the child above. After just one short instruction he was able to take photos, some of them very nice.

Evenings and nights are very chilly at this altitude. Whole families spend evenings, and very often also nights, by the fire.

Also animals take their chance for some warm.

This photo make me smile each time I look at it.

However, even here, people have their work to do…

…and every day stuff.
