Trecking in northern Thailand means a lot of climbing, sleeping in the mountain villages in the wooden huts, showers in the waterfalls and beautiful views. Each more worth than the others.

This is even not Chiang Mai. But this and Chiang Rai are the best places to start trecking. And the city is charming as well. Not that busy like Bangkok, but very Thai :) You shoul go there.
