Kilinocchi Market – smily faces with sad experiences

Northern Sri Lanka, after war, is not often visited by tourists. People and places are not yet spoiled by tourism and monies which go with that.
I had amazing opportunity to stay at home of local family in Kilinocchi, city that used to have 500.000 inhibitants, now – three years after war – there is 100.000 people living there, most of them trying to rebuild their houses and lives.
Together with Amma (which means Mum), we went to local market. Every morning children from other houses come and bring her some vegetables which she sells later at the market. That way she works and earns for living. People there are amazing, smiling, helpful, sharing, even if they have nothing.
Here are some shots from that place.
